Yesterday I went to dinner with my friends, and then we went to the cinema. It was a really nice evening, but since I'm the only one who's single, it sometimes becomes the only thing I think about all day.

Everything reminds me that I'm single. When I hear that there's an odd number of us. When I arrive at the restaurant or our meeting point alone. When we go somewhere and everyone naturally splits into pairs. When we choose our seats in the cinema. When we're paying and they pay for each other.

I mean... I'm a proper adult, so I can handle it. And it's not that I feel left behind. But still. Being the only single person in a group of friends is sometimes hard. And I think it takes some bravery to show up and shake off those annoying thoughts about being alone. Sometimes bravery is in those small things.

Keep that in mind if you ever find yourself in the same place. You're really brave.

With love, M.
